NICHOLAS, Clifton Adams "Pluto", of Glen Allen, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, Virginia. He was the son of the late Overton L. and Goldie Lloyd Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Foster Nicholas, his brothers, Branch Nicholas , Sherman Nicholas and Overton Nicholas, Jr., his sisters, Jessie Kirby and Joyce Clough. He is survived by his sons, Donald A. Nicholas and wife, Carol of Tappahannock, Michael F. Nicholas of Glen Allen; his daughter, Patricia N. Wright and husband, Wayne of Lynchburg; two brothers: Hilmer Nicholas, of Richmond, Virginia; Cullen Nicholas, of Maidens; five grandchildren, Kenny, Neal, Suzette, Crystal and Tiffany; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Today in Hopeful Baptist Church, Dr. Bruce Cole will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Clifton was retired from Kingan's and Hygrade Meat Packing Company after 37 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, a member of Biltmore Baptist Church and a resident of Heritage Green in Lynchburg for three and a half years. Lacy Funeral Home, Mineral is in charge of the arrangements.
