Robert Ray Waddy, 63, of Montpelier, died at his home Wednesday, April 21, 2010 after a long bout with Lou Gehrig's disease. He was preceded in death by his parents T.C. and Grace Waddy and is survived by his wife Margie Crews Waddy, two sons; Randall Waddy and his wife Melanie and Stewart Waddy, three grandsons; Nathan, Cameron and Quinton, his sister; Betty Whitlock, two brothers; T.C. Waddy, Jr. and Joe Waddy and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24th in Hopeful Baptist Church in Montpelier. The family will receive friends at the church from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be private at Mount Hermon Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hopeful Baptist Church Missions, ALS Association or the Montpelier Ruitan Club.
