PARRISH, David Lee, 54, of Mineral, was called by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 23, 2010. David was preceded in death by his father, Elton Lee Parrish; his grandparents, Joseph Ruben (Brud) Parrish and Jeanette Jones Parrish and Dennie David Thacker and Mena Kuper Thacker. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Katherine Lowery Parrish of Mineral; his two sons, Matthew Elliot and Brian Lee, both of Mineral; his mother, Wilhelmena Thacker Parrish of Mineral; a brother, Dennis Elliott and his wife, Paula, of Mineral; two nieces, Jessica Elaine of Lynchburg and Kelley Michelle of Mineral; and a host of sisters-in-law, other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. David was a third generation farmer by occupation and a lifetime member of South Anna Baptist Church, Mineral. He graduated from Louisa County High School and Virginia Tech with a degree in animal science. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, July 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lacy Funeral Home, Route 522, Mineral. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27 at South Anna Baptist Church, Mineral, with interment to follow in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dave's name to South Anna Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 9071 Cross Country Road, Mineral, Va. 23117.
